(AP) ? A girl who was shot in the leg when prosecutors say a U.S. soldier went on a deadly rampage in Afghanistan has testified that she hid behind her father as he was shot and killed.

Seven-year-old Robina testified Saturday from Kandahar via a live video feed in the preliminary hearing at a military base outside Seattle for Staff Sgt. Robert Bales.

Bales is accused of killing 16 civilians, including nine children, in a March 11 attack. The hearing will help determine whether he faces a court-martial.

After she hid behind her father, the girl says, he was struck in the legs and began cursing. She says her father died after he was shot in the neck and chest.

Bales did not show any signs of emotion as Robina spoke. He could face the death penalty if convicted.
