Critical Updates for Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 10 Announced

Microsoft has just announced that both Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 10 will receive critical updates next week, as part of the company?s monthly Patch Tuesday cycle.

While the Redmond-based giant hasn?t mentioned the flaws to be patched next week, the company did reveal that three of the updates will be aimed at 32- and 64-bit versions of its latest operating system. Two of these are flagged as ?critical? and one is marked as ?important.?

According to the Microsoft Security Bulletin page, one of these two critical patches is supposed to fix an Internet Explorer 10 bug.

Last but not least, Windows RT users will also receive two different updates, both of them considered to be ?critical.? Hopefully, they will fix one of the many software glitches reported by Surface RT users in the last couple of weeks.
