?Parents might do well to think twice before asking their high school student or college freshman to turn off that smart phone or laptop. It could mean a scholarship and a new career path.
Beginning in the fall of 2013, students interested in a career in computer software development will be offered a unique interdisciplinary degree option through the University of Northern Colorado's Monfort College of Business and the School of Mathematical Science.
To kickoff the new bachelor of science degree in software engineering, UNC has launched the Great App Design Contest. Colorado high school and college students can submit app design ideas by April 15 for a chance to win scholarship money toward the degree and other prizes.
